Fix: Microsoft Store Not Downloading Apps

Step 1: Reset Microsoft Store Cache
Sometimes the cache may prevent the Store from downloading apps. Follow these steps to reset the cache:
- Press
Windows + R
to open the Run dialog. - Type
wsreset.exe
and press Enter. - A command prompt window will open, and the cache will reset.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
Ensure that your Windows operating system is up-to-date:
- Open Settings and go to Update & Security.
- Click Check for updates.
Step 3: Reset Microsoft Store
If the previous steps didn’t help, reset the Store:
- Open Settings and go to Apps.
- Find Microsoft Store in the list and select it.
- Click Advanced options and select Reset.
Step 4: Check Your Internet Connection
A slow or unstable internet connection might be the reason for failed downloads. Try these steps:
- Restart your router or modem.
- Ensure that you are connected to a stable Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.
- Try downloading other apps to check if the issue is specific to the Store.
Step 5: Check Storage Space
Ensure that there is enough storage space on your device for the download:
- Go to Settings > System > Storage.
- Check available space on your main drive.
- If storage is low, delete unused files or move them to another drive.
Step 6: Disable Proxy or VPN
Proxies or VPNs might interfere with downloads from the Microsoft Store:
- Open Settings > Network & Internet.
- Click on Proxy and ensure that all proxy settings are off.
- If you’re using a VPN, temporarily disable it and try downloading the app again.
